Although some flagship manufacturers have been relying on scalable selfie cameras for some time, Samsung has been persistent so far and continues to introduce devices with notches or eyelets on the display. With the addition of new members of the Galaxy A series, this situation will soon change.
Twitter user OnLeaks, known for his many leaks, was able to get information about the new model. Based on the leaked CAD files, a video rendering was created in collaboration with Pigtou. The pictures show that the device is equipped with a mechanically retractable selfie camera and has an almost limitless display. A triple camera and a fingerprint sensor are located on the back.
The device could belong to the A-series
The rounded edges on the back indicate that this is a smartphone from the Galaxy A series. The screen size should be 6.5 inches. In general, the device should have a height of 183.5 mm, a width of 77 mm and a thickness of 9.2 mm. The camera module should protrude half a millimetre from the back. An infrared transmitter is used from above.
The USB-C port and noise-cancelling microphone are on the underside of the new Galaxy model. However, a headphone connection has not been established, so analogue headphone users have to use an adapter.
However, it would also be possible that the device is only an entry-level model. Therefore, the smartphone can also belong to the Galaxy M series and be available at a much lower price. It is unclear when the device should appear and whether different options will be released on the market.
