AMD’s new flagship card RX 5950 XT exposure: twice that of 5700 XT

AMD's new flagship card RX 5950 XT exposure: twice that of 5700 XT

The successful series of chip manufacturer AMD is not over yet. Literally recovering companies will continue to benefit greatly from the new processor family. AMD will also benefit from the recently released update in the graphics section.

AMD announced “Big Navi” for some time, but it refused to appear.

A few days ago, the reliable sources found that Big Navi corresponds to Navi 21 with a core area of up to 505mm 2.

Not only that AMD will also offer Navi 22 and Navi 23. The core area is also  340mm2 and 240mm 2, respectively.

What is the concept?

Currently, the core area of the RX 5700 XT is 251mm 2, and 40 CUs are built into it. The Radeon VII has only 331mm 2, which includes 60 CU.

Given the 7nm scale and RNDA2 architecture, the corresponding RX 5950 XT operating scale in the Navi 21 is pretty scary (80 CU, 5120 stream processors?). Twice the RX 5700 XT is possible. AMD officials said each watt RNDA2 performance increased by 50%.

Previously, the OpenVR relay list showed that unannounced A card performance increased by 17% compared to the RTX 2080 Ti.

In addition, RDNA2 itself also has many advanced features, such as hardware ray tracing (next-generation host control), variable frame rate, and so on.

Additional info: What is the situation of AMD in the market

When AMD management opened books and presented first-quarter results, sales totalled $ 1.79 billion. This is a huge increase of 40 per cent over the previous year. Profits of $ 162 million were also significantly higher than $ 16 million in the previous year.

According to AMD CEO Liza Su, the supply chain in China had problems quite early. However, the problems are likely to continue in the second quarter, as the business in the most important markets is not very good. However, it is currently not possible to evaluate in detail how serious the difficulties will be.
